Martin Luther King Jr. Early College after The athletic program competes against middle schools from across the district. Students must have a physical and emergency form completed before they can try-out or practice. Physical forms can be picked up from the website, coaches, health clinic, or from Ms. Law in Rm 223. Physicals may be completed by your family doctor or at the school health clinic. It is the student's responsibility to schedule a physical prior to the season beginning and give the completed form to the coach. |

Once the student has made the team, a $25 participation fee must be paid prior to the first game for each sport; this pays for DPS officials and playoffs. In addition, students must maintain academic and behavioral eligibility throughout the season. All grades must be a C or better to play and behavior must be satisfactory in all classes and throughout the school.
Practices are held after school Monday through Friday from 2:40 to 4:00. Students are responsible for providing transportation home following practices and games; this is not provided by MLK. Most games begin at 3:45, transportation will not be provided after games.
You can find game schedules and directions to away games on the district website.
