Jacquelyn (Jacque) Scales-Assistant Principal/Pathways Coordinator
My name is Jacquelyn Scales and I am currently an Assistant Principal of Pathways at Martin Luther King, Jr., Early College in Denver Public Schools. I have been in education for over 13 years after practicing as a Civil Engineering Technician for the Army Corp of Engineers and both the Virginia and Louisiana Departments of Transportation.
My background in industry compelled me to work with underrepresented groups as a mentor and has provided me with the opportunity to advocate the role of rigor in Career and Technology Education programs using Project Lead the Way as a curriculum model. I have taught at Mountlake Terrace High School in Edmonds, WA where I received coach of the year and North Forney High School in Forney, TX where I was awarded Secondary Teacher of the Year. I received a bachelor of science degree from Tarleton State University – Central Texas and a Master’s of Science degree from Virginia State University. I completed by administration credentials from Texas A & M University – Commerce. I enjoy spending quality time with my family, reading, and traveling.
