Lynette (Nettie) Welk- Assistant Principal
My name is Lynette Welk, and I am from Boulder, Colorado. I graduated from Boston University, with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I moved backed to Colorado in 2005 and worked in research at the University of Colorado. In 2008, I decided I wanted to become a teacher and changed professions. I joined Teach for America and began my teaching career at Martin Luther King Jr. Early College teaching 6th and 7th grade science. As I was teaching, I pursued my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado. In 2010 I became a part-time teacher, part-time teacher coach through the Collaborative Strategic Reading grant. In 2013 I took the position as Dean of Data and as of last year have been promoted to Assistant Principal.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love traveling with my husband to new and exciting places. When the weather is nice you can find me outside hiking or biking and enjoying the sunshine.
