Letter to Students Returning In-Person

Dear Parents and Guardians,
We want to provide you with additional information regarding what this process will look like in upcoming weeks.
Health and Safety Guardrails
- If you have not had a chance to watch the video we released two weeks ago demonstrating the health and safety guardrails we will follow, please take a moment and watch the video here to better understand what the school day will look like.
- Students will remain in one classroom for the entirety of the school day continuing their remote learning lessons on their chromebook. All classes and instruction will still remain virtual; no live instruction will be taught in the classroom.
- Breakfast will take place in the classroom. Lunch will take place outside, weather permitting, with their cohort.
- Students will remain with one teacher through the entirety of the day.
Transportation
- Transportation is NOT provided for the majority of students. The Success Express will NOT run as a shuttle between fixed stops this year as it has in the past.
- Check Parent Portal to see if your child is eligible for transportation. Find the guide on how to check eligibility here.
Weekly Schedule
- All students attend school IN PERSON Mondays and Tuesdays ONLY; the remainder of the week will be REMOTE LEARNING
- Center based programs will attend 5 days a week
- Dismissal will be 2:00pm
- Additional IN PERSON instructional days may be assigned as needed for students needing additional academic support
Student Supplies
Students will bring their own supplies in a clear backpack ONLY. No other backpacks are allowed. We are restricted from handing out supplies to students based on safety guardrails, so students must bring everything they need.
- Charged Chromebook and charger
- Headphones (must connect with your chromebook)
- Student-issued Novels/Textbooks
- CTE/STEM supply kits (if applicable)
- Art Supplies (if applicable)
Dress Code
Dress code guidelines can be found here. Students attending school IN-PERSON LEARNING must adhere to the dress code expectations put forth by DMLK.
Lockers
Due to the restricted circumstances with COVID, students will not have access to lockers this year.
There is NO SCHOOL for students Friday October 16th as it is Parent/Teacher Conferences and Fall Break is Oct. 17th-20th. The 2nd quarter will resume on Wednesday, October 21st for remote learning and Monday, October 26th for in person learning. We will continue to provide you with additional information as we receive updates. As you now have more detailed information about IN PERSON LEARNING, If you wish to update your student’s selection from IN-PERSON to REMOTE LEARNING, please call the main office at (720) 424-0420 by Thursday October 8th. Remember that office hours are 8am-3pm.

Reglas de seguridad y salud
- Si no ha tenido la oportunidad de ver el video que publicamos hace dos semanas que demuestra las reglas de seguridad y salud que seguiremos, tómese un momento y mire el video aquí para comprender mejor cómo será el día escolar.
- Los estudiantes permanecerán en un salón de clases durante la totalidad del día escolar y continuarán con sus lecciones de aprendizaje remoto en su Chromebook. Todas las clases y la instrucción seguirán siendo virtuales; no se impartirá instrucción en vivo en el aula.
- El desayuno se llevará a cabo en el aula. El almuerzo se llevará a cabo afuera, si el clima lo permite, con su cohorte.
- Los estudiantes permanecerán con un maestro durante todo el día.
Transporte
- NO se proporciona transporte para la mayoría de los estudiantes. El Success Express NO funcionará como un servicio de transporte entre paradas fijas este año como lo ha hecho en el pasado.

Programación semanal
- Todos los estudiantes asisten a la escuela EN PERSONA los lunes y martes SOLAMENTE; el resto de la semana será APRENDIZAJE REMOTO
- Los programas basados en el centro asistirán 5 días a la semana
- La salida será a las 2:00 pm
- Se pueden asignar días de instrucción EN PERSONA adicionales según sea necesario para los estudiantes que necesitan apoyo académico adicional
Suministros para estudiantes
Los estudiantes traerán sus propios útiles SOLAMENTE en una mochila transparente. No se permiten otras mochilas. Estamos restringidos de entregar suministros a los estudiantes en base a barandas de seguridad, por lo que los estudiantes deben traer todo lo que necesitan.
- Chromebook cargado y cargador
- Auriculares (deben conectarse con su Chromebook)
- Cuadernos
- Bolígrafos / lápices
- Botella de agua
- Máscaras x3
- Novelas / libros de texto publicados por estudiantes
- Kits de suministro CTE / STEM (si corresponde)
- Suministros de arte (si corresponde)
Código de vestimenta
Las pautas del código de vestimenta se pueden encontrar aquí. Los estudiantes que asisten a la escuela APRENDIZAJE EN PERSONA deben cumplir con las expectativas del código de vestimenta establecidas por DMLK.
Casilleros
Debido a las circunstancias restringidas con COVID, los estudiantes no tendrán acceso a los casilleros este año.
NO HAY CLASES para los estudiantes el viernes 16 de octubre, ya que son las conferencias de padres y maestros y las vacaciones de otoño son del 17 al 20 de octubre. El segundo trimestre se reanudará el miércoles 21 de octubre para el aprendizaje remoto y el lunes 26 de octubre para el aprendizaje en persona. Continuaremos brindándole información adicional a medida que recibamos actualizaciones. Como ahora tiene información más detallada sobre APRENDIZAJE EN PERSONA, si desea actualizar la selección de su estudiante de APRENDIZAJE EN PERSONA a APRENDIZAJE REMOTO, por favor llame a la oficina principal al (720) 424-0420 antes del jueves 8 de octubre. Recuerde que el horario de atención es de 8:00am a 3:00pm
