Posted August 1, 2024

Dear DMLK Families,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I hope this letter finds you well and that you have enjoyed a restful and rejuvenating summer. As we embark on another exciting year of learning and growth, I am thrilled to welcome both our returning families and those who are new to our community.

At DMLK, we are committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student can thrive. Our dedicated staff has been working diligently to prepare for the upcoming school year, and we are eager to share with you the new programs, activities, and opportunities that await our students.

This year, we will continue to focus on academic excellence, social-emotional development, attendance, and fostering a sense of community. Our goal is to support each student in achieving their full potential while instilling a love of learning that will last a lifetime.

Regarding attendance, I hope you had the opportunity to review our new attendance policy that was sent to you via School Messenger in the past few weeks.

We are excited to introduce several new initiatives designed to enhance our students’ educational experience. These include expanded extracurricular activities, enhanced programs, and increased opportunities for parent and family engagement. We believe that a strong partnership between home and school is essential for student success, and we look forward to working closely with you throughout the year.

Communication is key to a successful school year, and we are committed to keeping you informed and engaged. Please make sure to check our school website, newsletters, and social media channels for important updates and information.

As we begin this new school year, I encourage you to reach out with any questions, concerns, or suggestions you may have. Together, we can make the 2024-2025 school year a memorable and successful one for all our students.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Let’s make this year at DMLK the best one yet!

Warm regards,

Cristina Bissell, Principal
